"My goal as an artist is to engage my audience and allow them to participate in various ways. The work I make is not fragile or precious; it is made to be touched, inspected, and felt. I like to elicit a vague sense of familiarity coupled with a subtle unease or discomfort.
I am inspired by the natural world and human nature. I am intrigued by how things grow, thrive, and die and how people interact, cope, and heal. I use mundane or discarded materials, cheap things I can find around the house or in the garbage, and I bring them back to life with garish colors and textures.
My work is funny, messy and awkward, but it grows on you and makes you want to know more, just like me."
